Dr. V. Radja Ramane, Associate Professor

Dr. V. Radja Ramane holds M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in Economics, with a distinguished academic record including first class in B.A. and M.Phil. (university rank) and UGC-JRF for his doctoral research. He began his career as Research Associate at Pondicherry University in 1992, later serving as Research Director at Mother’s Service Society and as Lecturer in Economics at Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College, Coimbatore, where he also taught MBA, MIB, and MFC courses and coordinated NAAC activities. He went on to serve as Associate Professor at RVS Institute of Management and as Assistant Professor at Government Arts College, Coimbatore, until his retirement in 2017.

Post-retirement, he taught part-time at PSGIM and Karunya and was Research Coordinator at Rathinam College. Since 2021, he has been Professor at RVS College of Arts and Science, teaching Economics, Statistics, Excel, and SPSS, while mentoring faculty in research and project proposals. His academic specialisations include Research Methodology, Econometrics, Time Series Analysis, Structural Equation Modelling, and Human Resource Development.

Dr. Ramane has completed UGC-funded projects on health services and solid waste management, presented over 25 papers, published 15 research articles, and contributed a book chapter on agricultural trade. He has guided nine M.Phil. and ten Ph.D. scholars, and in 1998 was recognised by IGIDR, Mumbai, as a potential researcher in urban air pollution and public health.

• Complted a Research Project titled, “Impact of Educational Investment on Earnings and Income in the Urban Areas of the Union Territory of Pondicherry”, sponsored by the Mother’s Service Society, Venkatta Nagar, Pondicherry.
• Completed a Minor project funded by UGC titled, “Access to Health services by construction workers (Value: Rs. 55,000)
• Completed a Major Research Project Funded by UGC titled, “A Study on Solid Waste Management in the Urban Areas of Coimbatore”(Value Rs.6,07000).
